Car Accident Occurs During Los Angeles Art Walk
During one of Los Angeles' popular Art Walks, a car careened of off the road, jumped the curb and crashed into the sidewalk which was packed with pedestrians. A couple who were pushing their two-month-old son in a stroller suffered the brunt of the oncoming vehicle with the child suffering serious injuries.
It has been reported that the stroller was pushed by the car and that the infant's head hit the concrete. He was immediately taken to a local hospital to receive treatment but was pronounced dead the following morning.
Currently, there is no sign of alcohol having played a part in the car accident; first investigations of the wreck leading investigators to believe that the driver simply lost control of the car when he was attempting to park next to the busy sidewalk. The car is currently being tested for mechanical issues.
In retaliation to the wrongful death, those who participate and/or support Art Walk are pushing for the city to ban cars being driven down the local roads during the evenings that this is taking place. Many argue that it is a danger to the jammed sidewalks and the citizens that flood the area to participate.
