Bus Falls Down Mountain; One Dead and Ten Critically Injured
It is being reported that on Monday, February 21, a bus belonging to a Pasadena Korean church was recently involved in a collision that resulted in it falling down hillside outside of Twin Peaks on the California 189.
Returning from a weekend retreat, the bus was climbing down the two-lane, windy road when it came around a corner and collided head-on with a SUV. The bus then proceeded to go through a utility pole and down 25 feet through the forest before it hit a tree and came to a stop.
The driver, 61-year-old Wok Seok Chae, died at the scene following the bus accident. All 23 of the passengers were immediately taken to a local hospital for medical treatment after being removed from the bus with the help of emergency personnel. Ten of these passengers were said to be in critical condition.
